Protein coffee is quite simple to make! Simply said, put your coffee in a glass with some ice. You will next add your protein shake. Now whisk everything together, and if desired, add syrups, sauces, creamers, whip cream, or spices (such as cinnamon or nutmeg).
Hot Protein Coffee Recipe

Make a pot of coffee

I frequently either start my day with my regular vanilla latte or this recipe for protein iced coffee. These dishes are definitely among of my favorites with coffee! espresso that has just been brewed, ice, protein shake, and sugar or vanilla if you like it a little sweeter. It really doesn’t get much simpler than substituting a protein shake for the milk in your coffee to provide extra nourishment!
With my Nespresso and a double espresso shot pod, I like preparing this. However, any kind of espresso maker is fantastic! For this recipe, you can alternatively use instant espresso, highly brewed coffee, or even cold brew coffee.
2. Mason Jar + Ice
To shake this protein coffee beverage, add ice to a mason jar. Additionally, all you need is an ordinary glass with ice!
3. Protein Shake
You may substitute your favorite high-protein shake for the milk in your coffee. For a dairy-free alternative, whey protein and plant-based smoothies are also excellent options. Some of my personal favorites are listed below:

I often omit the sugar and vanilla in this recipe because most protein smoothies are already sweetened and frequently flavored. However, feel free to include it if you like a sweeter latte or are making the protein shake with unflavored/unsweetened protein powder.

How to make iced protein coffee
It’s incredibly simple to make protein iced coffee! Here’s how to put it all together in about 5 minutes:
- Over ice, brew the espresso or strong coffee.
- Add sugar and vanilla and stir (optional).

PROTEIN COFFEE ADD-INS AND TOPPINGS
Caramel or vanilla flavored syrup or creamer are both delicious! And I’ll let you in on a little secret: if you ask the barista at your neighborhood Starbucks, they’ll typically be able to sell you a bottle of syrup.
A richer caramel or chocolate sauce can be drizzled over food to add flavor. You may either sprinkle it on top or add it to the cup’s sides.
Whipping cream as a garnish is usually a smart move, right? (Use normal or light)
Use a frother to create more foam to serve as a topping for your coffee.
Allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pumpkin pie spice are wonderful spices. No added calories, but tons of taste!
EXPERT TIPS FOR THIS RECIPE
Coffee: Avoid pouring hot, freshly brewed coffee over ice; the result will be an unappealingly watery beverage. Because you’re using a LOT of ice and very little espresso, shots of espresso over ice are OK (and espresso is super strong). I think cold brew coffee tastes the greatest, thus I strongly recommend using it!
