Air Fryer Cornbread – How to make Cornbread in an Air Fryer?

You must attempt this recipe if you’re seeking for a simple homemade air fryer cornbread recipe. It is the ideal accompaniment to any meal since it is soft and moist. This buttermilk-made cornbread has a very rural taste. Air Fryer Cornbread

Nothing compares to a mouthwatering Southern cornbread side dish that is handmade and light as air. more so if it is served alongside a favorite barbecue food, such as BBQ Ribs or BBQ Chicken Wings. One of my favorite air fryer dishes is this traditional southern comfort meal.

TO MAKE CORNBREAD IN AN AIR FRYER, YOU WILL NEED:

The Cosori Air Fryer or the Instant Vortex are unquestionably necessary. Silicone muffin liners are required if you wish to make cornbread muffins.

As long as it will fit in your air fryer or on the tray, you may also use a square or circular baking dish. If you don’t already have silicone cups, you may buy them separately or as part of an accessory package for an air fryer oven.

A RECIPE FOR HOMEMADE CORNBREAD

This cornbread is really easy to make! Start by combining the flour, cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium basin. The dry components should be combined.

The buttermilk, melted butter, and egg should then be added. After that, keep combining the ingredients to create a thick batter.

The cornbread batter should be poured into the baking dish. Fill silicone cups roughly 3/4 full if using them. Place in the air fryer basket and fry for 13 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit or until golden brown. Your air fryer’s cooking time may vary, so start with 13 minutes and increase it by 1-2 minutes if necessary.

A RECIPE FOR CORNBREAD MADE FROM A MIX

Although I like to make this cornbread from scratch, Jiffy cornbread mix may also be used in an air fryer. Simply prepare the batter according to the directions on the box, then cook it for the same amount of time as specified in this recipe.

TIPS FOR HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER CORNBREAD

Try to use the same accessory “bucket” pan that we used with smaller air fryers. The pan is this. It is thin, light, and deep enough to accommodate one jiffy cornbread box’s worth of dry ingredients. Although we tried a number of pans for the air fryer, our time is based on one “bucket” pan.

This pan may be used with oven-style, toaster-style, or bigger air fryers. For the bigger oven-style air fryers, we utilized this pan. Like several other 8-inch pans, the thin edges don’t get in the way. It will also function in some of the bigger air fryers with baskets.

A cornbread that has been overmixed will turn out to be rough. In order to fully integrate all of the ingredients, whisk and mix just enough.

Avoid wasting the battery by using a rubber or silicone spatula to combine the ingredients. These materials allow you to scrape the bowl’s sides. This will result in the optimum mix and prevent crucial components from sticking to the bowl’s sides while being mixed.

To prevent the cornbread from sticking, grease the edges of the baking pans.

Different outcomes: The cooking temperatures of different air fryer models vary. Therefore, cover the cornbread with foil if you test it with a toothpick and it still comes out a bit moist. To fully cook the cornbread, heat it for an additional few minutes. The foil prevents the top of the cornbread from drying out and scorching.

WHY IS MY CORNBREAD STILL RAW IN THE CENTER?

Most likely, your air fryer uses high heat to cook. The cornbread will be thicker if your pan is too tall. Alternatively, it might be too high and too near the heating element. As a result, the cornbread may cook too quickly on the exterior while remaining uncooked inside.

Because of this, we advise switching off the air fryer while leaving the cornbread inside to continue cooking. The corn bread’s core will continue to cook thanks to the air fryer’s residual heat.

WHAT TO SERVE WITH AIR FRIED CORNBREAD?

Butter or honey

fresh chutneys or jams

Eat it for breakfast with eggs or have it for dinner with a steak. Anytime of the day is a fantastic time to enjoy this fast bread or side dish prepared in the air fryer.

For Thanksgiving, we love to serve our favorite air fryer cornbread recipe with turkey and always top it with rich gravy.
